Here's
a television show that we always watch during the Halloween
season. At the turn of this century, Haxan, creators of the
film "The Blair Witch Project" developed a series for Fox
television known as "FreakyLinks".
This great show centered
around Derek
Barnes and his friends, Lan, Jason, and Chloe, who
investigate and document the world of the strange and
unusual, then post the results on the FreakyLinks.com website.
In
the beginning, Derek
took over the investigations into the strange and bizarre
after his twin brother, Adam, died under mysterious
circumstances. In addition to their investigations into the
supernatural and darker side of urban legends, the
FreakyLinks team continued to look for
clues about Adam's untimely death.
As an added mystery, the
enigmatic Vince Elsing, who had been the subject of
strange scientific experimentation that left him with both paranormal
abilities and disabilities, occasionally contacted Derek with information
about Adam and on going paranormal phenomena.
This
show had believable characters that had a wonderful dynamic
interaction and was well written, with just the right mix of
horror and humor to make it work. Unfortunately, the
series was not renewed after its first season, in spite of a devoted following.
In fact, fans created an online petition for
Fox to bring the show back for another season. If you were
not fortunate enough to have recorded this program when it
originally aired your in luck. FreakyLinks is currently
airing on Chiller
TV.
