2008 HALLOWEEN
TREE
The "Morphing Spooky Black Tree" made for a
really spooky addition to our Halloween festivities! This five foot
tall metal and plastic Halloween tree is covered with orange and purple bulbs.
The upper reaches of the branches mysteriously change from black to
create an illuminating effect! Since the branches are bendable to some
extent,
you can easily re-shape this Halloween decoration to fit
close to the wall if you are short on space.
For
ornaments we chose to use an assortment of small
Halloween decorations such as plastic spiders, rats,
bats, skulls, etc. An artificial crow looks great
perched on one of the limbs.
For
the base we cut out a two and a half foot in
diameter circle of black felt to act as the skirt.
On top of the tree skirt we made a blanket of Spanish moss,
available at most craft stores.
Finally, for the
final effect, we arraigned the contents of a "Bag Of
Bones"
around the base of the tree. The pack includes a
collection of twenty-eight pieces of assorted foam
bones and skull.
As a final effect, we placed a
Mister Kool
low-laying fog machine behind the base of the tree to create a very
eerie special effect.
Safety
Tips - Never leave the lights or any
lighted decorations plugged in when you
leave the house. Its a good idea to
attach a smoke detector to the wall or
ceiling above the tree. Make sure that
plugs plugged into outlets and/or
extension cords are plugged in safely.
Always have a fire extinguisher handy
during the holidays.
